Ummm yes it does.

When I have the 'self-dipping' function turned ON it sometimes seems to fail to dip so I use the stalk to dip. Except that the instant I pull it to dip, the self-dip function operates and my stalk-pull puts them back on main beam, FCUKing thing!

This happens on both the SQ5 and the Model 3 so on both I now keep the main/dip function on "manual".

That's not how mine works, you can always over-ride the auto function.

Blaming something generic because of a bad realisation in some cars (see LED headlights thread) makes no sense... 😉

Isn't that what I said I do in my last para?

No, you said you turned the auto dip function off.

On mine I leave it on, but the stalk still works properly if you want to switch between dip and full beam, it doesn't do what you said yours does.

It’s not just boaters causing trouble with overbright LED lights, met a cyclist with a flashing LED that seemed to point straight ahead and at us.

Suppose with it flashing it was only on half the time but the burnt retina seemed to continue. Can’t think why he didn’t angle the light down so he could see the towpath?

Its when you meet the joggers on a corner and they and they have head torches on just 6 foot from your face.
