BMC 1.8 Diesel engine oil filter any information .

my BMC 1.8 has  a threaded centre oil filter position on the port face with a return hole for oil return.it looks like an oil filter just screws into it but more likely there is a head unit that fits in this position to receive a screw in filter. Any info or pictures please.g couper.

The oil filter screws straight on the side of the block.  Search for filters on line or in spares shops under BMC  Leyland Sherpa van,  or LDV van 1,8 litre Diesel    1976 

 

3/4" thread. ensure the filter has a non drain valve inside else the engine will be slow to get up oil pressure.
