It gets lumpy around there with the incoming waves  interacting with the reflected waves coming back off the eastern arm of Dover Harbour. Don't ask how I know, but it was in a much smaller boat than that.......

 

The video amply demonstrates why crossing the channel in a narrowboat would be a challenge.

20 people in a 10 foot rubber dinghy with a 4hp engine seem to manage it (regularly).

I would have liked to have seen some shots of the interior when it got moored up safely!!
