Tonka
I am in the process of rubbing down my boats sliding hatches. They are marine ply with hardwood runners capped with aluminium. Normally just use Craftmaster gloss paint but was wondering if I should use Linseed Oil Paint as it is more breathable. The painting will be done at home as the boat currently has a really old set of hatches on for winter. Any advice taken.

beerbeerbeerbeerbeer
I’m not sure what you mean by this and I wouldn’t have any advise based on my experiences. If exterior why would you want it breathable? I’ve been mixing my own oil paints with pigments and linseed oil. But only for my art.
Sir Percy
Dries matt. Adhesion is pretty good, does require maintenance with re-application of oil. Nice to work with.
frangar
if they are bare wood I would coat them with epoxy....something like the west system....then get the blush off with an ammonia based cleaner...sand...prime and paint with craft master..using the grey primer...not the pink wood primer....Its what I've done for my wooden slide & doors...
