I remember seeing that sign but cant for the life of me remember where it is.

Rushall locks. At the top:L1103_20050329_0013s.jpg.b5914c66f48979e12492fb1dad69a716.jpg

and this had some entertainment, itself

spacer.pngWell, we hadn't, so we did. And the office asked if we wanted someone to help us through. They could be with us within two or three hours. Well, of course we didn't need any such assistance, we just needed to know how wide the lock now was. But they didn't know that. So we just carried on ... to that other sign ...

There were a couple similar at Berkhamstead. The cottage owner would come out and swear at you if you left the lock full.

BW. That's going back a bit ;)

From the close building it does look a bit like it could be Berkhamsted.

Gas locks the bottom one ?

I've not been through there since CRT took over but spent quite a bit of time around  there mid 00s.

Might be somewhere totally different.

Can anyone please explain what this one means at Cuckoo wharf as I can't get my head around it

Looks clear enough to me; from top to bottom:

(1) There is a 14 day mooring limit, but only 30 minutes on the service mooring, and

(2) Permit holders only to the right of the sign, and

(3) It's OK to use the BW service mooring for 24 hours if you start after 6pm, because if it's vacant then, they won't need it before 6pm tomorrow.

Reminds me of the time when they dug up a few yards of one side of the road at a local shopping centre and put up the sign for "you have priority" on one side and "give way to oncoming vehicles" on the other side. Unfortunately the latter sign was erected upside-down, making both sides think they had priority!
