This one might be for sale ...  Some work needed, but if you built her in the first place you should be able to do it!

Salwick on the Lancaster Canal.

CRT have now removed this boat from it's mooring site.

I don't know where they have moved it to or if it's been broken up.

Looked pretty broken up.already....

Only the top bit!

It's not a project I'd want to take on, but the OP was the original boat builder and still has the superstructure moulds.

It's more likely to get a bad shed built on it though, or even more likely to be cut up and sent to landfill.

Venus was my nana and grandads boat, it was such a beauty in its day. I seen it near the watch house club yesterday and it looks a mess, wish my family could have kept it.

Winter 2007 this was taken, my mum has way more pictures at her house.

Fibreglass has a big advantage over steel in that there is no corrosion and lasts indefinately. No expensive overplating!

The big disadvantage of course is that fibreglass is subject to abrasion in locks and along concrete moorings, etc, and so must be well fendered. Since we're constantly being told that narrowboats should not enter narrow locks (or broad locks in pairs) with fenders down, a fiberglass narrowboat seems at a distinct disadvantage on the canals in this respect compared to a steel boat.
