SR3 losing power and running hot

Starts up fine but then after a mile or so gradually seems to lose power and the air from the hot air vent blowing through the hull seems very oily. On taking up the deck board there was oil on the underside above the rocker cover. Does this sounds like a blown gasket and would this account for the loss of engine power?

Could be lots of things. Is the air intake blocked for instance? Is the fuel filter/s blocked?

Air inlet ducting collapsed?

Check the oil for fuel dilution, common on SR engines due to fractured internal fuel pipes.

How much oil is in the sump?

 

If its overfilled, very thin (runny) and smells of diesel you have an internal fuel leak so the oil has diluted and its starting to seize up.

It is important on these engines to occasionally remove the air cowling and clean all the cylinder fins. This is quite often overlooked, and can certainly cause overheating issues.

That's what it sounds like. Probably just needs an injector pipe and an oil change.
