tigerh2012 Posted September 27, 2020 Report Posted September 27, 2020 (edited) Hi, I have inherited a carabo stove on my boat, does anyone know what size fire rope it should take? There is no manual. I can't find anything online. Previous threads don't mention what size rope was needed, although there was mention that this make of stove doesn't have a seal the handle side... ? Tonka Posted September 28, 2020 Report Posted September 28, 2020 These people sell the glass so they may sell the rope as well. worth a telephone call https://fireparts.com/carabo-Carabo-Boat--stove-glasses-GLASS5130
Mac of Cygnet Posted September 28, 2020 Report Posted September 28, 2020 I have a Carabo. As you say, for some reason it doesn't have stove rope on the door handle side, which means that it is not easily controlled. I got some (I think) 5mm round stove rope and glued it on that side with stove rope glue, giving a pretty good seal as it compresses. You may need to slacken off the door handle (anticlockwise complete turn) to accommodate it at first. It needs re-gluing now and again though, there being no rope channel on that side.
