RCR seem to be trialling a new version of the android canal map for free, saying it's now one download for the entire system. Didn't work for me, and seems only free till the year end, but might interest some of us. It's the beta version, apparently. IOS out in the new year.

Looks like they're dumping support for all the old eCanal maps, which is annoying, but I suppose that's progress, in the sense that you're supposed to bin what works fine and buy something new but not as good.

Old Nicholsons are better, anyway...

It works OK for me, and looks quite good apart from a couple of minor glitches, but I wouldn't pay for it if it stops being free. Maybe it will be free to RCR members, especially as it includes their SOS features.

Also having just installed it, it says "This app will deactivate on 01-01-2022.", so a year and a bit hopefully.

I agree - I've yet to see an e-map that tells you where to find a "useful shop".

I use google maps for finding a "useful shop". I use Waterway Routes for canal maps.
