Saw a bit on BBC news last night about how newsreader Hugh Edwards’ grandpa spent 3 years as a merchant seaman POW. If it were possible to get to our boat, we would fly the red duster tomorrow, but health/Covid dictates we stay landlocked :(

Thanks for reminding me. I was looking at Dads medals yesterday, he was in the thick of it more than once. Battle of the Atlantic but more notably supporting the Ohio with his ship taking oil in to Malta during operation pedestal. No small achievement. Torpedoed and sunk twice and saved both times and just by the skin of his teeth on one occasion.
