Well, coming from the leek branch gives you a better perspective. Plenty of room. Did it easily, slowly and no use of the thruster required.

This canal is hard work though. Very overgrown and almost impossible to judge the hard edges. Now I know why we haven't been back since 2011.

It comes to a very disappointing end too, unless your boat is capable of the Froghall Tunnel.  Still, they might have cut the vegetation back by 2029 when your next visit is due...! :D

If in doubt, the standard method is to stick the sharp end in the shallow bit and power the arsend round.

Yes - we headed down in the mist, went to Froghall and by the time we came back the sun was shining and we had an extremely pleasant time sitting outside the pub with some very good beer.

We were planning to go to Froghall but somehow never made it past the Black Lion, stuck there for ages unable to summon up the willpower to leave. Great pub, great beer, great food, bonkers chickens...
