Anyone used Crown exterior gloss to paint their narrowboat?

Not if they want it to last. Most domestic paint is now " wash brushes in water" stuff and poor.

No but I have used and was very happy with Johnstons processional gloss. It is oil based and smells like the Craftmaster and other boat paints I have used but seemed to flow out better

This stuff is oiled based and according to their tech. it mixes with Owatrol. Tried narrowboat paint a couple of years ago, and to be honest, it went dull and was a bit pricey, so you don't always get what you paid for. Brushed on. by the way.

What colour was it? The paint that faded that is?

 

PS Wickes do some serous non Mickey Mouse paint too.

I've just put the undercoat and first top coat on the roof with Black Country Paints. It's good stuff, very heavy pigment and coverage. It's also about 1/4 the price of Toplac.

I have just spoken with them after reading your post and I have to say they couldn’t have been more helpful. Nice thing is from reading their Webb page is that they are an independent British family business.  Thank you for the post.

It is cobalt blue

It's an RAL colour, a lot of places wont match it
