"4 ambulances, air ambulance, inshore rescue, fire and rescue, police in attendance

At least two people entered the water after two vessels collided by the White Swan.

Also reports of fire."

This is a really awful stretch of water to find yourself in. The tides really rip in and out on this section of river. Hopefully the incident will be brought to a safe conclusion :(

Trickiest bit of the broads along there and around the corner onto Breydon.

I would wager that section has the highest accident/incident rate of the whole of the rest put together.

Fortunately deaths and serious injuries seem still seem to be pretty rare though.

Even inexperienced brand new boaters have to work tide times against distance.

Though of course we dont yet know what caused this.

It is by far the trickiest part of the Broads and it is surprising that there are not more accidents there. The tide runs very fast in that section.

The reports say they hit the wall so perhaps they were attempting to moor up. It looks from the pictures as though they have missed the yacht station moorings and have ended up downstream of the yacht station on the private moorings.

It appears the boat hit the wall while attempting to moor up and the woman slipped off the back and became trapped under the boat.

Our thoughts go out to the family of those involved.

A reminder to all just how dangerous a pass time boating can be.

ILB 'Pride of Leicester' was launched at the request of Norfolk Fire and Rescue Services to assist with a person who had fallen into the water from a boat in the River Bure next to Tar Works Road.
The Norfolk Fire and Rescue firefighters had managed to successfully lift the person out of the water and they were safe and well. An Ambulance was despatched but thankfully not required.

If any coastal emergency dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
