Manchester Bolton and Bury walk - where to park?

Hi Folks,

 

I'm contemplating a walk along the summit level of the MB&B, roughly Prestolee locks to Bury, possibly also to Moses Gate, the end of the water towards Bolton. 

 

Any suggestions on where to leave the car for a few hours - I can't see any car parks near the canal on the map. 

 

(Normally I might go by bus or train, but probably not at the moment)

There is parking at Moses Gate Country park and It is about a 1 mile walk from there to Prestolee Locks. To get to the locks you could follow the River Croal or leave the park walk down Hall Lane and then follow the path of the canal to get to Prestolee Locks. You also get to pass the wonderfully named Nob End.
