Hecla and I once had a discussion about boat names in historical documents and the name PERSERVERANCE was common.  But with modern boats there seems to be a host if different and clever names. I came across this boat on the Trent & Mersey, which had a certain humour.

I did see a Pissed 'n Broke which is a bit like telling the joke and then having to explain the punch line.

The original name of our boat was very similar :-

Since then it has been renamed twice, firstly to "Napton" around 1990 and then to Helvetia in 1997 by us. The new owners have chosen to keep the name.
