robbio c
Hi all I have a zf 10m gearbox and checked oil level today but the dip stick doesn't have a max or min mark on it but it does have a circular groove on it about 10mm from bottom of stick and the oil level is about 15mm above this mark .Does that sound right ?I know the recommended amount of atf fluid should be .35litres
Tony Brooks
typically but not specifically to your box the groove is max and the bottom of the stick is min. Also if you don't screw the plug back in the bottom of the stick becomes the maximum.

Steve56
On a ZF gearbox the line around the dipstick is the oil level. There is no maximum and minimum, just the set level. To check oil level you should just place the dipstick into the hole, but do not screw in. The oil should then be at the mark on the dipstick.
