Webasto

Hi All,

can I please pick your brains again. This time it's about heating. Not sure if my idea can work or if it is a pipe dream.

I have a 1 cylinder Perkins generator in the engine bay, not connected, far too loud and it has to go.

This could free up space for a webasto diesel heater as I have just immersion heater and back boiler on my stove.

Could such a diesel heater easily be installed?

Yes (if your skill levels are up to it) and the fuel piping, exhaust holes etc line up with the heater - or you'll be drilling new holes in the side of the boat.

You will also need to be competent and have an understanding of plumbing (for the water - cold in - hot out) and how to link it in with the existing cauliflower and back-boiler.

Personally, although 'competent', I'd always prefer to pay someone to wriggle into the cramped engine hole and work upside down for a few hours

Most (all ?) Ebers / Eebbys go into the engine compartment - it is the normal place to fit them because of the proximity to the fuel supply.
