Tracy D'arth
Opinion please. Reading the latest boaters from C&RT, does anyone think that Damian has ever had a canal boat? Or even set foot on one? Has he been to a canal? Is he real or a figment or C&RT's imagination?

matty40s
Wash your boat off regularly, dont take strange creatures anywhere else(unless your Uncle is in your bubble), just because the swimming pools are shut doesnt mean you should swim in the Walsall....and here is the Winter Closures consultation for you just in case the L&L, Richdake, HNC, Macc and Peak Forest, Watford Flight hasnt made you think its Winter already. Tracy D'arth
Well, to be honest, just about all of it. Not just knocking C&RT. Water shortage in the wettest winter on record, persistent rain this week. Cleaning INNS of boats. A list of closures so long that it seems unbelievable for the start of the boating season, according to C&RT. TD'

David Mack
24 minutes ago, Tracy D'arth said: Water shortage in the wettest winter on record, persistent rain this week. That's unfair. CRT's Reservoir Watch shows that in Mid March reservoir levels were close to 100% over most of the country. But a wet winter was followed by one of the dryest springs on record, so it's no surprise levels are down a bit since March. I image the last week or two has helped, and with few boats on the move over the last couple of months, there won't have been nearly as much lock usage as in a normal year.

Precisely my view, so why are we short of water? Is there a leak? You bet there is, just about everywhere.

Arthur Marshall
You can't blame CRT for the Macc and Marple water shortages apart from the lack of maintenance on the reservoirs, so you can, really, but that history.

It would help if Damian didn’t come across as a tad condescending. He writes likes he’s out on the sideline. From the armchair. A boater report should sound like the writer knows his stuff. Not just saying ‘nicey nicey’.

Jerra
With regard to rainfall according to the met office winter (Dec Jan Feb) was overall 116% of the average rainfall. Spring on the other hand was only 82% of average rainfall. So 82+16=98% (For those who don't understand my logic 16% is the extra rain added to Spring or to put it another way 116 +82=198) So rainfall is near enough average but currently we are at the end of a long hot spell.
