MickGooch
Hi there can anyone help to identify the location in the old postcard below? Many thanks!

Neil2
Are you sure this is in UK - looks like a Dutch scene to me.
BuckbyLocks
Looks like The Netherlands, but so much choice there that I have no idea!

Th OP's picture is almost certainly from the Netherlands.
magpie patrick
The Ulverston Bridge is over the lock, a feature that is notably lacking in the postcard! Double bascule bridges weren't that common in the UK, but were far more common in the Netherlands so I'd guess the Netherlands or possibly Flanders - it's either high tide or non-tidal, no significant water mark on the abutments

MickGooch
Hi thanks for the replies. The postcard is British but it is possible that the photograph upon it is from overseas - I did wonder if that might turn out to be the case.
Heartland
This postcard image has various items for identification. Firstly there is the boat Them there are the wood guards by the bridge, and the buildings and structures either side of the waterway. Those on the left have the look of a group of kilns. Thanks - I didn't think the name of the boat was legible, but having gently cleaned with a cotton bud and looked again with a magnifying glass I believe the name on the bow is Weesp. So this would seem to definitely confirm it as being the Netherlands and perhaps point towards a general location.
BuckbyLocks
Plenty of water around Weesp, which is very near Amsterdam. The waterways around there have been enlarged and altered quite a bit, but it is entirely possible that this bridge was in this part of the Netherlands. BuckbyLocks
Only a single leaf, but this is in the area of Weesp last year.
Chris Lowe
Wind in to about 3:57 a double bascule bridge in Weesp
