Hot water from Immersion heater.

My hot water is from a calorifer and I pay 19 per unit for electricity.

Usually, especially in Autumn / Winter / Spring.  An immersion heater will have a thermostat on it so it turns itself off when not needed, and any "waste" heat heats the boat anyway.

I prefer to have a shower in hot water rather than cold water even in Summer, so it's nice to have if you have shoreline power.

Thanks.

Yes. Well in all honesty if you realy tried to work it out precisely with timers then you could maybe save pennies here and there. Mine is on 24/7 365 unless we go off on holiday then we switch it off in case of a power cut. Mains costs as you say are peanuts and having hot water at absolutely any time on demand is easily the best thing about immersion on hook up.
