Homemade rope fenders.

I'm having a go at making a side fender.

Using the instructions in "The Fender Book" by Colin Jones.  I can get to figure 5, page 15.

Now which is strand 1, and are the others numbered clock-wise, or anti clock-wise?

All I get is muddle of strands, which ever way I go!

I struggle following diagrams for ropework! Video makes it much simpler.

Different coloured tape on the end of each strand is a great help.
