Where do you get these ridiculous figures from?

173,989 deaths across the whole of Europe due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) since the first recorded European death in France on February 15.

I didn't create it and I don't fact check memes far to much effort and if I did you wouldn't have anything to whine about.

If you ever go there Alan don't refer to the mainland they don't like it.

I've been there many times but never needed to refer to the 'mainland' but I'll bear it in mind for the next time.

1st two pictures are Douglas.

The bottom picture was in Port St Mary, the harbour master did not have enough diesel to spare so we had to arrange for a Road Tanker to come down onto the harbour wall so we could fill up

So have I well worth the visit isn't it.

It was only 60 miles from Holyhead so a good weekend trip (less than 3 hours each way).

Nice place but we once had a wicked tide in Port St Mary,

We were on the inside of a raft of 5 boats, middle of the night they had a 'once in 100 year tide' that swept in on the North side of the harbour, curled all around the harbour and 'ripped' all of the rafts of boats away from the wall. There were burst fenders, snapped lines and chaos. There was folks running about around the boats 'in their undies'. My Brother in law stick his head out of the hatch and said "all right ?" and went back to bed.

Exciting times.

On one trip, we were escorted back to Holyhead by Dolphins

No, its not really funny - just another example of 'Trial by Media'.

When / if  Dominic is charged and convicted (or just plain fined), then that is the time to demand his resignation or termination. The papers and TV just love getting someone on the back foot and filling their pages with innuendo - and I don't mean about him making the trip - he obviously did -  but whether or not he broke the rules. All I've read that appears to be provable is that his wife got the bug so it was odds on that he would get it, so he went to family for support for his child - and then isolated himself for 14 days very close by.

If he has done more than that and broken any rules, let's see the evidence, and I'll be right at the front to get him out. Until then, he hasn't done anything that I wouldn't in the same circumstances.

You couldn't they would not let you into 10 Downing Street for 6 hours having just left your wife with caronavirus symptoms.

Well, whichever tosspot worked all that out, they've managed to find an extra 300 million people in the EU from somewhere. And, Italy with 33,000 deaths, France with 28,000, Spain with 27,000, I'd say the person that created the effort above was a sandwich short of a picnic.

If you don't want to look like a 'clown', try at least to find something intentionally funny. Curb your political bent. The odd figures should have stood out to you like a sore thumb.

It didn't mention EU  either.

It was assumed by readers that's what it was about

Worry not. You carry on proving to everyone what a plonker you are, it doesn’t bother anyone else.

Where does it say that it's supposed to be the EU? Probably just a collection of countries with low death rates. For example, Norway with 235 deaths and Iceland with 10 deaths are both in there.

All these quotes are from the BBC, in date order, and not edited selectively by me to show or hide anything material

“I suddenly got a call from my wife who was looking after our four-year-old child. She told me she suddenly felt badly ill." He went home and after a couple of hours his wife felt better and he returned to work”

Me :Not ‘well’, just better

Me: So that night he drove (without stopping for fuel or anything else) to his parents house (which has a separate guest building) so if his wife got worse, and he also got the bug, his child could be looked after by his parent

The next morning:-

“Mr Cummings says he woke up "in pain and clearly had Covid symptoms, including a bad headache and a serious fever”

Me: So his expectation of catching it was correct

Then, a couple of days later

“During the night, Mr Cummings' four-year-old son "threw up and had a bad fever". Following medical advice, an ambulance took the child to hospital. He was accompanied by Mr Cummings' wife”

All the info on which I’ve based my (so far!) decision is on reports I’ve read that are available to all. If others want to come to a guilty verdict on their readings, that’s your privilege, but so far I have seen no clear evidence that he did anything other than care for his family.

Be good if this thread was left to its (sometimes) humorous intentions. I thought the political area was for stuff like this (which, I appreciate, I breached after others did).

Do you have a degree in turd polishing?

Perhaps you ought to get a job at no. 10?

And yes, like most of the country I am VERY angry about this.

Does Mr. Tee's apparently factual account merit such a dramatically vulgar response?

Do you think that "most of the country" could give a jot?
