He changed it because it is now the accepted ‘correct’ spelling. His biggest market by far is (well, was - he’s semi-retired now) to the US and British forces, both of whom also use the now mandated ‘sulfated’ spelling.

Very clever. It's a pity that the publisher of 'On The Beach' couldn't spell the author's name correctly, though.

If you bother to read all the article, you will see that the abbreviated headline comments are taken from a response to comments made by U.S. medical experts and were not unreasonable questions to ask. And they were questions not statements.
