Dunno, thats why I was asking if anything has changed?? Thirty odd years ago its all there was and indeed where I found the advert for my first boat!! but over the years it seemed to be just repetition. Maybe its changed? I will have a look online whilst its still free ?

It's like most specialist magazines. They cater for the churn in people coming new to the interest whilst the olders drop out having read up on the subject - there are always some new to boating.

I do like the really old versions (70's/80's) of the magazines of which I have quite a few.

Mine says that the sharp bend at Outwell is "more than 360 degrees". Although such a bend is theoretically possible, it is rather unlikely!

I've looked at my Nicholsons guide to the Middle Levels and can no reference to a More Than 360'' bend

Maybe mine is a different (presumably older) edition, or maybe it's not my Nicholson but one of my other guides that I'm remembering; it's on the boat so I can't check it now. I believe the newer Nicholsons say "more than 180 degrees" which is perfectly reasonable although I'm not sure if even that is actually correct.

I believe there has only ever been one edition of the Nics Broads and Fens guide published in 1986.

Oh well, perhaps it wasn't Nicholson's; I'll apologise to Mr Nicholson (or wasnt it Rev Nicholson?) if I see him. Certainly it's in one of my guides (did Imray do one, perhaps); I remember making an entry in my logbook at the time when we first visited Outwell, and even doodled a sketch of how it might be possible. It was rather disappointing to find that it was only a simple 180.

Since then I guess the Broads guides must be published 'stand alone'

My Broads (only) guide is dated as published in 2018. With previous publication dates as 2010 (first publication) then 2012 and 2014.
