Edited to add - not the canal itself but one of the inclined planes that led to beach level.

No - but it looks like you'd need some really small Stop Planks...

Does look that way don't it, but it wasn't designed for boats they would have stopped at the top, there was supposed to be another of these at Trenance point but I don't think there is any evidence on the ground.
