A nice night, Trent embankment Nottingham. Not so nice last night for the passing England fans, but they were still jolly and chatty as friendlies should be. Tonight cricket Notts v Yorks T20🏏

and earlier [9Aug2013] just after it was painted. Hmmmm. The plates have been swapped. Hmmmm -  IIRC, on the Yorkshire side, from a boat headed for Liverpool the plate that first you see tells the steerer ho far it is to Liverpool, and looking backwards how far have come from Leeds. Perversely, the plates on the Lancashire side are t'other way around. Anyway, this one is now inconsistent with the Yorkshire-side scheme ..

Tripboat Lurcher 70' x 7' emerging from ...

... and seemed to have busted through a 5'6" wide tunnel.  Hmmmmm. And They Didn't Sound Their Horn ... Nor did anyone wear a lifejacket...

... and there was due warning at the last lock (Flint Mill 17) on the branch. Seems that 70' boats will not fit.  Well Well.
