It is a really nice place. Leave yourself plenty of time to explore.

The butchers is excellent as is the deli owned by the same family and to top it off Two Magpies bakery have opened a shop on the harbour front as well.

The walk along the (dog friendly) beach to Holkham is beautiful. Nice pub in Holkham as well and then the walk back through the woods makes a nice circular walk back to Wells harbour.

The Coasthopper bus service is excellent as well. Great for exploring the adjacent villages along the coast. We often get the bus to Blakeney and then walk back to Wells along the coast path.

The campsite at Pinewoods is very very nice but very very expensive. Still the most expensive we have stayed at. It was £51 a night when we went earlier in the year and although a bank holiday it wasn't the height of the season! (Just worth noting that they insist that vans must be registered as motor caravans on the log book as well. Not sure how they check this)

There is a smaller private site called Mill Farm Holidays which is much cheaper. It's a working stables though so not really an option for us and our idiot dog!

Thanks for that looks lovely and a nice place to stay in the boat for a couple of nights

If you have the time stay more than a couple of nights.

Oh and the Golden Fleece is a cracker of a pub if you can get in. It's super busy.

The view from the visitors pontoon is the best  in town providing there isn't another boat rafted on (which is rare in recent years).

Lots of places to eat  and  drink or to buy food for self catering if preferred. There is water and electricity on the visitor pontoon.

Showers toilets and laundry in the floating cedar clad building attached to the pontoon.

The wells harbour website has  a video showing the route in.

Aim to arrive as close as possible to high tide.
