It's a (fake) arm on which crock's attention seems focussed.

I suppose the sadness is that crock needs to be chained up, as I think in it's heart it's really a friendly old thing.

And here’s the painting of our boat at the same location.

That's the very first lock my boat went through, shortly after I collected the shell from Allen's of Oldbury in 1991

A peaceful evening on the Thames, no boats - large or small roaring by, no fish breaking wind.

Not a ripple, just calm.....image.jpeg.cf7a30e8cacfa11d0c5bee5f89a1ba4a.jpeg

Ansty Bridge

It was demolished eventually. #961

No doubt there used to be a CanalTime base nearby.

Braunston Show in Braunston Marina

With the late, much respected Mr. Hudson visible on the right-hand one of his boats.

What's the betting that at least one of our members is throwing darts at this photo even as I write?

While we were moored, Trevor was the pumping his hold-emptying pump, like the one in pic:

"How long have you been doing that, Trevor?"

Trevor: "about forty-five  years."

"Should be about dry by now"

Tunnel, Southern Oxford

For those who haven't been down that way, Fenny Compton Tunnel used to be a real one but was opened out many years ago. There's still a stretch of a few hundred yards at the Southern end which is too narrow for two boats to pass.

Pumps pointing the wrong way.

Trevor in action with his mate Colin. He didn’t go to rallies in those days.
