On this day in 1979

towards Colne Bridge Railway Bridge No 4  Huddersfield Broad Canal. 

Ex-Midland Railway viaduct - an attempt by the Midland Railway to reach Huddersfield with a single line., It did reach Huddersfield but the Midland did not build a station there or run passenger trains over their line. It connected with the gasworks.
