The new pipe line to bring water to the summit pound in Sheffield from the river Don continues. They are now working at lock two on the Tinsley flight. The remains of the old cast iron pipe from around 1910 can be seen ahead of the end of the new plastic pipe. It has disintegrated in to shards of rust and iron. No wonder it was failing when the new pumps were installed. OK, being attacked by a digger and pneumatic drills probably didn't help!

Today 2025.20220511_174452.jpg.ba40d0755f2accb9eeb8352882b95be0.jpg

Fulbourne on the dock at Stretton wharf. Angle iron frames behind the plating repaired, and new plates let in over the last few days, new plate riveted to the angles behind this morning, and epoxy primer this afternoon.

And how it looked on 2nd May:

Yes, we are undoubtedly one of those: austerity livery, laceplates, crossbed, stove, ...

As to taking a pic at half-past-eight and posting at five-to-ten, ...  🙂

Lovely picture, what breed are they, one looks like an American Cocker? other a cockerpoo?

Syd the black and white one is a Schnoodle (Schnauzer x Poodle) and Jack is a Jackapoo (Jack Russel x Poodle)

We had not had Syd long when that picture was taken, only a matter of weeks. He was a rescue.
