Looking down Lothersdale in 2015 towards the L&LC, with Bradley visible behind the remains of the lead mine. A link to the Rochdale was proposed to climb up Lothersdale here by a probable flight of 40 locks before passing through a 2 mile tunnel towards Colne, and then across to Todmorden.

That must have been quite a journey

We became quite fond of the drains and took Wyrd and Meteor to virtually all of the accessible destinations on them. New Bolingbroke was fun with a full length boat but I do remember going through the tunnel/bridge towards New York without having to de-rig. Before the present madness I blieve Lincs. C.C. were contemplating re-opening East Fen lock which would add a considerable mileage to the system. Once that is done there is a possible route, via the Steeping river, to Skegness without too much engineering. hughc.
