A Middle Level Junction, which we have overrun slightly and are reversing in order to turn right ...

spacer.png

... with another waterway heading in the opposite direction under the low concrete bridge. Which was not quite the configuration expected for Whittlesey Dyke Junction on our intended route to Ramsey ...

spacer.png

... and this is a very straight route ...

spacer.png

... to Bevill's Leam Pumping Station. By the time we arrived here, the realisation had dawned that the junction had been Angle Corner. More disconcerting was that there is no way to turn our 70' boat here, and hence a five-mile reverse back to Angle Corner ...

... only slightly compensated by the rainbow at Old Pumping Station (Bevil's Leam, MLN)

Looking back the way we have come when moored to continue the reverse next morning. There wasn't a pub to go to.

Bring the offside boat (#1) forward and shuffle-across with the other (#2).

Bring the single boat (#3) forward and shuffle across #1 into the space vacated.

Bring the remaining boat #2 forward.

All very straightforward, but not always easy to explain to an oncoming single boat that has never done it before.

spacer.pngContinuing from 16Aug2007 and our overnight (publess) mooring on Bevil's Leam.

When we arrived here at Angle Corner the previous evening, (a Middle Level Junction), we turned right in error, not having noticed the blue sign, to head towards Bevill's Leam Pumping Station. By the time we arrived there the realisation had dawned that there would be no way to turn our 70' boat, and hence the five-mile reverse.

And the equivalent sign from the March direction.
