Gauxholme Railway Viaduct  Compare  ##1978  24Sep1982  23Sep2003  25Sep2003  21Jul2009

The bridge has now been cleaned up and painted. Will get a pic of it next time I'm down that way. I read that it will be black with a bit of gold, originally it was blue and white, that would have been great but apparently would offend modern sensibilities.

What's wrong with blue and white? Gauxholme's near twin on the descent to Manchester is those colours.20200809_174634.jpg.926a1247a9145798db639581110455fb.jpg

Ah! lovely, that's how it should be. But for the whim of Halifax Council.

Yesterday Coates portal Sapperton tunnel looking in, Thames and Severn canal.
I sadly missed out but sometime in the late 80s it was possible to take a trip boat in run by the Cotswold canal trust. Stopped very early 90s

Far too little water for that currently!

And some people reckon graffiti is art.

So why is it that graffiti on Listed waterways structures is OK, if frowned on a little, but we go mad when it happens to Listed Buildings elsewhere?

Currently in Birmingham,  the graffiti centre of all.
