Strewth!!!! Am I glad we don't live in the Toll House now, overlooked by that monstrous construction. At least the trees I planted have done well for themselves - they were only meant as a hedge.

I've just gone back and looked at the photo again - it's really rather depressing. We even managed to get some sort of protected status for the 3 cottages there in the local plan.?

21016, and we finally made Liverpool, though suffering from a bladeful at Litherland for which there was not really enough time to remove fully until we got to the Eldonian, where another pipe band met us. Some more of the volunteers who made the trip possible. It must have been one of the best recent advertisements for canals judging by the numbers who came out to see the boat pass, and we were lucky to have some enthusiastic CRT staff to support us.

Compare #3406 (1980) #3867 (1994) #765 (2009) #3248 (2010) and the locks on the main line.

And a new use for the space of the Little Union Canal

Compare #3249 (2010) #792 (2014)

And some moored boats hereabouts

Not everything that floats on water merits the accolade of 'boat'.

Kennet's activities have been severely curtained because of covid, but we have obtained Lottery funding for a video which will be available on our website, and to show on the towpath to those with a disability who cannot get onto Kennet. We began filming last Tuesday, though we are still trying to work out how to set up and video the new displays in the hold whilst complying with covid regulations! Our mooring at Greenberfield is in a tier 3 area.
