It is normally only the watertaxi that is allowed to use the Coronation Channel, and that was a planning requirement for the out-of-town shopping centre which it serves.

There are not a lot of these on the inland waterways. Or very few signs to warn of them.

High tide on the Trent

The water did get a couple of foot higher than this. The moorings were completely surrounded by water as the bushes were submerged with just a foot or so of pontoon risers visibile.

 

Dunham Toll Bridge was shut at this point.
