Consultation runs from 17th March until 16th April 2021 here. Peel says "to travel across the Manchester Ship Canal and Barton Lane pedestrians and cyclists are required to leave the Bridgewater Way and make their way along Barton Road, which is a vehicle dominated environment. What the proposals seek to do is provide an alternative, pedestrian and cycle friendly route over the Manchester Ship Canal and Barton Lane, reconnecting the Bridgewater Way... Reinstatement of the cantilever walkway along the Aqueduct"

 

Article doesn't have walkway closure date. Nor here but it does say the current state is a disgrace.
