Its a wiggaly bit about half way between Acton Bridge and the next lock down. I need to look up the names

Dutton lock is the next one down and I have often walked the dogs along the wee road which runs along side the river to the lock and I don't remember that bit. There are moorings between Dutton and Saltersford locks but I don't remember the concrete edging. Probably my old memory playing tricks ?

Blue Line boatman Jim Collins on the coal run from Atherstone to the'Jam Hole' on the Paddington Arm. The photo of him beneath the vent shaft of Braunston Tunnel is by the late Eric Coltham.

For those of you watching in black and white, the engine is the blue one.

At least, it looke like one of those Midland Region electrics, though I can't see any overhead wires.

Overhead lines and gantries are definitely there if you zoom in a bit.

How gratifying to know that the engine-spotting ability which I built up in the 1960s is still intact, even if it'[s pretty much redundant now.
