Pelsall Junction BCN IWA Festival of Water.

#3187 seems to have annoyed the system somehow. Hmmm. I messed it up trying to unmerge a merge. Again:

iirc it was the only rowingboat to make an entry to the Festival.

Kennet & Avon days. A friend rented a lengthsman's cottage near Dundas Aqueduct, where we would spend dreamy weekends, relishing the quietness of it all. The only boating was by the two local lads, seen aboard the otherwise untended maintenance punt. The Charlotte Dundas tripping boat ran over a stretch nearer Bath, accompanied sometimes by Fred Blampied's Kenavon Venure. Both were paddlewheelers, as they had to be, given the weed thereabouts.

At the eastern end, British Waterways greeted incomers from the Thames with some serious advice.

On this day 2011. Weedy Witham. We ended up towing the little cruiser from Kirkstead Bridge down to Boston as it's outboard couldn't power it through the weed.

On this day 2010. A bit choppy in the Wash. We were heading to Wells but decided at the Roaring Middle to call it a day and head back for Boston.

Shardlow mill not long after it was restored and opened as a pub. We had made friends with the manager and our 2 campers and Jack Monks pair were on hire to a big group needing 4 boats for a week. Apologies for quality of photo.
