Quite right, too. The back rope does the forward motion, the front one does the steering.

Mol locks Herentals Canal Belgium. This canal was part of the route from leige to Antwerp before the Albert canal was built. The barges are called Kempenaars and are 55m long. Most of the traffic is silica sand from a loading place just above these 3 locks.
