Thornycroft engine fault

Featured Posts

With the starter motor off you should be able to see the flywheel, or even turn the engine over a bit so it hits another set of teeth, they always hit the same ones due to how the engine stops. The old Ford 105E was a bugger for that sort of thing.

I've left the motor off (dithering on flinging it in the canal). I had a look at the teeth and they all seem fine. Just waiting on a 26mm spanner to come so i can try turn the flywheel from the other end

Calor gas spanner may fit.  I'd just pry it round on the teeth.
