Original message:

We have been advised that a 15ft x 10ft craft has capsized and partially sunk upstream of Bridge 12, Trent Bridge on the River Trent and is currently travelling downstream. (Please be aware that the information we have is there is no one aboard and the occupant is safe.)

This is an advice note to any craft moored in the vicinity.

One assumes that they have the dimensions wrong.

At least crane access will be easy.

This was on the BBC news - the Fire brigade took a man off it. The boat is now resting on the steel rails which are used to guide boats into the navigable arch.

I doubt if Leicestershire County Council will allow a crane to be used if it is sited on the bridge., The boat is blocking the navigable arch.

I take it this broke free from Proctors rather than someone trying to actually move....Ive had a close moment with Barrow bridge when there was some fresh on.....you have to be sure and go for it....theres no room for error!

I would imagine his insurance would be invalid if he had knowingly moved whilst the river was in flood.
