It sort of like to have that, but I'd never get round to building a dinghy, so I think I'll let it pass.

I got it maybe 3 years ago and not used it yet, it what a Ebay night with a few drinks I think lol. Doubt I will use it now due to the new project.

I would suggest that holes punched in an otherwise sound hull or even a split caused by impact do not equate to "a weak side". The hull should not be weak, just damaged. It depends upon how large the split and holes are but I suspect you may be correct that the best way may well be to gain access to lay up on the inside of the damage. Best of luck.
