Water Can in the Style of Nurser?

Featured Posts

When I was told that someone was donating a water can decorated in the style of Nurser for me to raise funds for Chesterfield Canal Trust I started to get excited.....

But then I should have known that the individual who so kindly donated would have their tongue very firmly in their cheek

Ah well - if anyone wants a decent base to create their own painted can it has a beautiful copper rose

and could be yours for a donation (suggested around £15) to CCT

I also have a travel satellite set up to sell too

You are all too late!

This has already been snapped up by someone local to grace a property in that traditional canal town of Whitby

I still have the satelite system though :)

Someone has got a "genuine" nurser at a bargain price then! 😂

I'm pleased the Chesterfield Canal Trust has benefited, as my far too over-full loft has also benefited!

(You'll be saying next that I said the satellite system was the very latest in high definition state of the art technology, won't you!).

I thought that was what you had suggested it was?

I actually raised £18 for the "Nurser" so thank you very much for clearing out the loft

Clearly from some astute person capable of recognising the genuine article.

I'm disappointed though to hear it is unlikely to grace the cabin of any genuine Barlow's boat in one of the big historic boat parades! 😂

If you had kept it, it could have!  A little bit of guerrilla decorating in the wee hours ... :ninja:

And how did you come to own such a "genuine" Nurser water can?

It was (an unwanted!) part of the package when we bought Chalice.

There was worse, (OK, I know that sounds hard!), but that was junked.  I had hung on to this, because I was aware that if not "bargeware" (🤢), it was at least a usable galvanised watering can.

I saw Alan buy it from some dodgy-looking geezer in the pub last week, for £850....

:giggles:

I think it was a typo. Should have read "genuine nurserwater can". 😁

Reminds me of that wooden historic for sale a while back, HAZEL perhaps?

Anyway the advert claimed it was built by "nurses of Braunston".

😅

I haven't a photo of that Ron Hough but I do have a photo of the other one.
