Bizarre one this:20200121_213834.jpg.99cc9a9083644b7215843a170c7b278b.jpg

The crimp has totally dissolved into a soft verdigris paste. Seems to have done it really rapidly, it was conducting electricity yesterday!

Any ideas what may have caused this? It was taped up behind headlining carpet above a cooker.

Oh, and the strange white stuff in the background is contact adhesion for the headliner, not an impressive mould culture

What do you use to heat the heat-shrink tubing if you are on a boat with no access to 240V ac mains?

Lighter, match, very gentle application of a blow torch st a push.
