I’ve got lots of old Video8 tapes.

is it possible to transfer them to DVDs or even some digital storage?

Plenty of companies offering to do it on Google.

Knowing very little I would suggest you go straight to the the latest tech. Even that will be out of date soon. In audio terms I can remember when 78s gave way to 33 1/3, which gave way to reel to reel tape, to casette , to CD which has given way to on line downloads and cloud storage. ( any errors , note my first three words) . TV / Video has gone the same way. We got a 9" tv in 1949. ( they've got the same model in the Imperial War Museum). Now, if i wanted to I could , sitting in this pub,  press a few buttons on this Tablet and watch live tv.

PS. This Adnams Broadside is VERY pleasant

I put video8 to dvd into amazons search box and got loads of things that say the will do the job, one example is what ever this thing is.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Video-2-PC-Capture-Windows-Camcorder-transfer/dp/B0049BE3TA/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=video+8+to+dvd&qid=1578934236&sr=8-2

For £40 quid you can do it from the comfort of your own home...
