M molly
Just wondering if any one knows how rare this is as people want my engine and don't know weather to change it and sell the engine or keep it in any one can help or share with me about it thank you
BEngo
Change it and you will need to spend loadsa money. New motor to start. Then adjust mounting beds, new controls, new gearbox, new prop, wiring etc. etc. The Sabb 10 hp single is not that uncommon. Found in a lot of Barney boats and at least 1 in the UCC hire fleet. An acknowledged expert is Jonathan at Union Canal Carriers in Braunston. N
Athy
Some smaller Springers have them too. I think a few of UCC's hire boats have them also, doubtless due to Jonathan's enthusiasm. They must be just about the last "proper" engines in use in a hire-boating fleet.

OldGoat
Until somebody with better real knowledge comes along--- I suspect not a lot. David Mack
If it runs reasonably well why change it? A new engine and all the alterations to the boat needed to fit a replacement will cost thousands more than you will get for the old one. And if it doesn't run well, getting it sorted will still probably cost less than replacement. Edited January 7, 2020 by David Mack
Boater Sam
May be more sensible to sell the whole boat.................................

David Mack
Sabb singles and twins come up on ebay from time to time, and usually go for less than £850.
