Over the years we've had several threads on here referring to the tradition of putting a teapot on your boat roof.

 

I took this photo last week, which suggests a certain level of desperation not previously experienced.

Who was that directed at?  As Nick quite rightly said, those teapots are on Torksey Lock gates.  What amazes me is that they haven't shoogled off by now - they've been there for quite a while.

What is the etiquette on teapots on roofs please, I have been breasted up with one and wasn't quite sure how t respond if at all.
