magpie patrick
My favourite is whatever I'm cruising next - trouble is that I'm not sure which one that is! I have a long to-do list, but top priority are the Leeds and Liverpool end to end and the Canal du Midi end to end Of those I've cruised so far my top 5 are probably (not necessarily in order) Staffordshire and Worcestershire around Kinver Oxford south of Banbury Caldon to Froghall River Kennet Peak Forest Woodley to Bugsworth Next five would certainly include the Brecon and Abergavenny and the River Stort

From the south, it's nice from Stourport to just before Kiddy, then a bit manky through Kiddy, then from Wolverley to Greensforge it's just lovely and a real contender for best bit of canal in the country. North of that all the way to Penkridge it's a disappointment in many ways (scenery, surroundings, noisy roads, bad pubs). Then it's pretty nice all the way to Great Haywood, when it follows the routes of the Penk and Sow.
