Bolt behind the alternator.

Just remove the old snapped bolt from the alternator and with an ordinary  bolt and big washer passed through the back of the slot in the bracket and  screw into the alternator and adjust the belt in the ordinary way with a lever. If you have'nt got a bolt of the right diameter and thread just use the next size smaller diameter instead which should pass throgh the threaded hole in the alternator and put a nut on it instead, until you get the correct bolt.  Retain that thick spacer washer between alternator and bracket.

The threaded draw bolt is the long one dangling on te end of the adjusting bracket. It screws in and out of the shiny knob bit on its end which moves the alternator to adjust the belt. Both those parts should be ok. Its the one screwed into the alternator thats bust and left a bit of  that shiny knob bit. in it. You need to remove the slotted adjusting bracket to see to it. One bolt low down holding it to the engine.

''A'' is the shiny knob bit with the broken off bit of the end of the bolt that it swivels on which is the one still in the alternator.

What you need is a short length of threaded bar with a washer welded on the end a bit like a spoon. Put a bolt through the washer, slotted hole and into the alternator with the end of the bar through the drawbolt hole in the adjuster. Run a nut down it to tension the belt then nip up the bolt that goes through the washer.

Another option is an old school auto electrician/supplier, you can find them off the roundabout where Sainsburys is, just turn left instead of right for Sainsburys and you'll find them on the left in a small industrial estate. They will also repair alternators, battery chargers, etc.
