Hi just fact checking - is Cowley the only tunnel on the Shropshire Union or are there anymore I'm missing?    Were there anymore that have been opened up?

Thanks.

Are you including the Llangollen which is actually part of the Shropshire Union ?

In which case you can add Ellesmere Tunnel (87 yards long), Chirk Tunnel (459 yards long) and Whitehouses Tunnel (191 yards long)

Wasn't woodsheaves originally supposed to be a tunnel or was that cowley that was going to be a longer tunnel but the ground conditions put paid to the idea?

cowley was meant to be much longer - but the earth conditions were too unstable and they opened it up
